AdWords Advertising - The Secrets of the content network

Google AdWords advertising can be displayed on the search network or content network ... or both. Many advertisers will automatically turn off the content network, or do essentially the same ads on both search and content. No strategy is anywhere close to optimal.

Definition

The content network is a collection of websites worldwide that display the ads of Google Adsense. So it is very important to understand that visitors to these sites may or may not have made a quest to reach the site ... and most likely did not attempt to target specific keywords.

So this leads many advertisers to think that the content network is less valuable or not valuable at all. This could be corrected if you simply let Google decide where your ads appear, but this is definitely not the best use of the content network.

Google offers the ability to hit specific web pages, rather than entire sites, for your ads - and this is exactly what must be done to successfully use the content network.

In this way, you can advertise only on those pages within a site that relate EXACTLY to your ad ... and keeps your ad off the pages that are not relevant.

Now some experts AdWords Advertising have special tools to make the arduous task of finding these web pages much easier. The alternative would involve doing research on Google, Yahoo and MSN to find the best sites for each of your relevant keywords and copy down every URL of a web page. It would also be a good idea to actually visit each result page to ensure the ads are well positioned on the page.

Another very important point is this: Google can be the cost per click and cost per impression advertising models on the content network ... and will usually be more advantageous to use the cost per impression for two reasons:

1. This usually results in a lower cost, if you create a good ad, with a good click through rate, and

2. Google shows only one ad per ad block on the page if an advertiser uses cost per impression, which can greatly improve the click through rate.

And 'this all there is to AdWords advertising, or the proper use of the content network? ......
