Maladjustment and marginalization

Define the concept of maladjustment is not easy because it is contaminated by common sense and meanings of life as marginalization. The inadequacy may be the inability to adapt to a given situation, mismatch personal conflict with the environment, failure to social stimuli, the existence of antisocial behavior, the existence of unstable behavior ... The inadequacy of the individual encompasses physical, psychological and social. It would be the individual who is the range of normal social behavior that shows a discrepant with respect to patterns of behavior considered normal in a given context, and undesirable behaviors socially acceptable. Includes models, influences the problems and difficulties that prevent the incorporation of the individual in their midst, and behaviors resulting in negatively valued by the social environment to which the individual belongs. The exclusion would be the process by which a society rejects certain individuals who do not have to perform a specific behavior. An individual with a dissenting behavior can lead to a situation of marginalization in a situation of marginalization change need not involve maladaptive behaviors. For example Gypsies maintain a culture and customs different from the normative group, the payos.

For payos would be maladaptive behaviors leading to a situation of marginalization. The exclusion would cover the misfits (but also to the adapter). The elderly are marginalized, but are adapted to society.

In all societies there has been the phenomenon of maladjustment or social maladjustment. The adoption of inappropriate behavior to the social norm lead them to be ostracized and marginalized by it. The concept of normalcy or adaptation depends on the labeled misfits, abnormal, deviant, individuals who show a different behavior with respect to this group of "normal." Normative group are compared to all others and whose conceptualization of marginal or unsuitable will depend on the degree of distance from the characteristics of the normative group. A behavior can be assessed in different ways. Normal or deviant behavior will depend on: - behavior itself. - Social context in which the. - Who is the one that shows that behavior. - Who evaluates it. - What is the distance between the two social contexts. - Consequences of this behavior. Usually adopt concepts from behaviors that are repeated in many members of society, giving them a normal character by the mere fact that it is a repetitive behavior in the majority. The Misfit is not adapted to the society by certain conditions or circumstances such as unemployment, family breakdown, "bad company" ...

the outcast of society rejects him for various reasons such as sex, religion, culture ... The concepts of "adaptation and maladjustment 'and' exclusion 'refers to a group: It is suitable or unsuitable or marginal with respect to a particular group. That is, an individual is considered "adapted" to conduct under this near or far from the normative group's proposal is "unsuitable" means any conduct that is apart from the group. As is being marginalized by the normative group for any reason. The Misfit is not adapted for the group policy and it is marginalized because it removes the normative group. The misfit can be marginalized (eg offender) but need not be marginalized misfit (eg women). Guerau differentiate between lack and inadequacy, lack of health can not be maladjusted. Also differentiate between hostile and maladjustment, since not always the hostile environment generated maladjustment. "I am not adapted to the society" [I am a social misfit. The maladaptive behavior is inadequate response to a given situation. Is to put in place mechanisms inadequate, unnecessary or counterproductive to achieve certain objectives. "They gave me away, marginalize me, of society" [I'm socially marginalized.

The exclusion of marginalized does not depend on itself, but of those who exclude. http://www.animacion.synthasite.com
